Jacques Piette is the Director of du GIGA-Research (Grappe interdisciplinaire de géno-protéomique appliquée), the Laboratory of Virology and Immunology and an Adjunct Professor at the University of Liège.
It was in 1979 that he defended his PhD thesis, on the subject of the damage caused to DNA by photosensitization. He subsequently became an assistant at the ULg’s Laboratory of General and Medical Microbiology, and then carried out postdoctoral research on psoralens with Professor John E.
