Marie-Laure Volvert

Background

In 2007 Marie-Laure Volvert graduated in Biomedical Sciences, after having presented a dissertation on ‘The role of phosphorylated derivatives of thiamine in the response to stress: transitory cerebral ischaemia and hypoxemia.’

In the same year she joined the neurobiology of development group at the University of Liège’s GIGA-Neurosciences unit and specializes in particular in neurobiology and embryology. She has since embarked on a doctorate on the ‘Functional characterization of microRNA involved in the regulation of cerebral corticogenesis,’ under the supervision of Gustave Moonen and Laurent Nguyen. She has also received the Nicolas Jacquet Prize.
