Background Lecturer at the ULg’s Faculty of Sciences since 1999, Alain Seret teaches physics and medical imaging, mainly to students in veterinary medicine and the Masters in physical sciences with a specialised outcome in medical radiophysics. He has also been an expert in radiophysics for nuclear medicine since November 1st, 2000. It was in 1991 that he defended his doctorate in the domain in molecular photophysics. Then desirous to discover other horizons within physics, he left for a post-doctoral study period at the Institute for Transuranians (a European Commission Research Centre) at Karlsruhe in Germany, under the aegis of the European programme, ‘Human Capital and Mobility.’ Over the course of these two years, he worked jointly on the development of an instrument to measure the resistivity and heat capacity at very low temperatures of highly radioactive components. At the end of his contract, he returned to Belgium and was hired as a hospital physicist in the radioisotope department at the Brussels Erasmus Hospital…where he worked for four years. In 1999, a lot of important courses were left without a teacher at the ULg’s Department of Physics: they concerned over half the University first year students receiving a physics course. At the time, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine was looking for a physicist to give more focused courses to its students, but also to develop its medical imaging department. It was thus that Alain Seret came back to the ULg with a lecturer’s status. Selection of publicationsM.A. Bahri, A. Plenevaux, G. Warnock, A. Luxen et A.
