Nancy Delhalle has had a very unusual career: she graduated from the University of Liège with a double major in Romance Philology and Communication. Afterwards, she spent several years teaching French in high school before earning a Ph.D. in 2004 in Communication. Her dissertation concerned “Political theatre.” She teaches history of theatre and theory of theatre today at the University of Liège. Her passion for the theatre was stimulated by meeting people in the theatre such as Jean-Marie Piemme of the Varia troupe. This led her to reflect over a long period of time concerning the theatre in Belgium. She has been (and is) a critic, a journalist, and a member of the editorial board of the journal, Alternatives Théâtrales.
