Nicolas Vandewalle was granted a degree in Physical Sciences at the University of Liège in 1993. He defended his doctoral thesis on superconductivity, supervised by Marcel Ausloos, in 1996. At first an FNRS researcher, he was named a lecturer at University of Liège in 2000.
