Bertrand Bonfond

Background

Bertrand Bonfond has always had a great interest in space. In his fourth year of primary school, he presented a report on the planets. Later he became a faithful attendee at conferences of the Astronomical Society of Liège, and following the advice of his professors he decided to study to become an engineer-physicist.

He graduated from the University of Liège in 2005, and began a DEA program in astrophysics and geophysics in order to begin work on a doctoral dissertation in the Laboratory of Atmospheric and Planetary Physics (LPAP) of the University of Liège. His DEA thesis, defended in 2007, had to do with the observation of polar auroras on Jupiter using images produced by the Hubble Space Telescope. Today, Bertrand Bonfond is continuing his doctoral research in this area.
